Irish moss is the type of Sea Moss we all commonly know but isn't necessarily native to the Caribbean - shockingly. Irish Sea Moss, also known as Chondrus crispus is actually native to colder North American Coastlines and European coastlines and is only grown during certain months of the year.

Genus Gracilaria is a family of Sea Moss which is native to areas such as South America, Africa, Oceania, and Asia (what we sell) and grows year-round.

Wildcrafted vs Pool Grown? The term "Wildcrafted" refers to the way a plant is harvested. It means the plant was harvested directly from its natural habitat. Hence why you'll see little rocks attatched to our Sea Moss here at Alkaline Healing.

Pool grown or open ocean farming is more common the way Sea Moss is grown nowadays. But, doesn't have nearly as much nutrients as organic Sea Moss because of its rushed growth, as demand for it continually increases in this day and age.
