Genus Gracilaria is a family of Sea Moss which is native to areas such as South America, Africa, Oceania, and Asia grows seasonally. This is the type WE SELL.

(Chondrus crispus is a different type of Sea Moss, actually native to colder North American Coastlines and European coastlines.)

Wildcrafted vs Pool Grown? The term "Wildcrafted" (the type we sell) refers to the way a plant is harvested. It means the plant was harvested directly from its natural habitat. Hence why you'll see little rocks attatched to our Sea Moss here at Alkaline Healing.

Pool grown or open ocean farming is the more common way Sea Moss is grown nowadays. This is an inferior product. Farmed Sea Moss does NOT have nearly as many nutrients as organic Sea Moss because of its rushed growth.

With increased demand for Sea Moss in this day and age, more and more of what's out there is farmed or pool grown. Alkaline Healing harvests and sells only wildcrafted, organic Sea Moss.
